To accompany our future exhibition on the struggle for British freedom and rights, the
The exhibition, which opens at the end of October 2008, will explore political rights in Britain, from the basic right to vote in elections to the right to protest, uncovering the hard-fought struggles that have taken place in this country during the last 1000 years. As well as iconic documents, the exhibition will include contemporary voices, sound archive material and film footage, illustrating the significance and relevance of these documents to us today.
This is a unique chance for young adults to explore the library and its collections, gaining access to its expertise and knowledge. The project will help develop critical thinking and research skills as well as giving the opportunity to present findings in inspiring ways, either in the exhibition itself or online.
